Venue Hire at Geographe Bay Yacht Club

With stunning views over Geographe Bay and the Busselton Jetty, the Geographe Bay Yacht Club is a beautiful setting for weddings, celebrations, meetings, and community events.

Please note — we are a not-for-profit, volunteer-run sailing club, not a commercial function centre.
Our main focus is sailing and community, and venue hire is offered when possible. All hire fees go directly toward maintaining our facilities and supporting club activities.

We ask all hirers to treat our venue, staff, and volunteers with respect. You are responsible for setting up and packing down your own event. Our team does not provide event styling, setup, or cleaning services beyond what is included in your hire.

Hire Spaces

Main Hall (min. 4 hrs)
Includes alfresco and grass area.
Capacity: 200 standing / 140 seated. Perfect for large functions.

Lounge Room (min. 2 hrs)
Available only if we are open or we have Main Hall booking.
Capacity: 50. Great for private dining or breakout space.

BBQ & Lawn Area (min. 2 hrs)
Casual outdoor setting with external toilet access.
May be available during the sailing season (conditions apply).

Training Centre (min. 2 hrs)
Separate building with kitchenette, Smart TV, tables, chairs, and air-conditioning.
Capacity: 50 seated. Ideal for workshops or meetings.

Sailing Season (October – April)

Our sailing season is our busiest time of year.

During this period:

The club and restaurant are open every Friday and Saturday night for members.
Sunday Sessions with live music run from 3:30 pm.
Regular regattas and sailing events are held on weekends.
Venue hire may only be approved if shared use is possible.

As we are committed to these sessions, large private events are not available on weekends, especially Saturdays unless we have committee approval. Smaller or shared-use bookings (e.g. BBQ area) may be considered. Please enquire by emailing us at admin@gbyc.com.au

Catering

All catering must be provided by our in-house restaurant, Southern Flavours.
Outside catering is not permitted.

Important Notes

The club is not a staffed function centre – hirers manage their own setup and pack-down.
18th and 21st birthdays are not permitted.
Political or religious events are not accepted.
No BYO – the club has a special Club Liquor Licence that must be advered to;
all event organisers must become GBYC members.
Strict noise restrictions after 8pm outside.

Alcohol Service

As a licensed club venue:

Alcohol can only be sold with a meal, unless a special licence is approved.
You may run a bar tab without providing food.
Some Events may need an extended licence, costs will apply and approval must be asked.

Community and Member Rates

Discounted hire rates apply for not-for-profit groups and senior sailing members.
All venue hire contributes directly to maintaining our club and supporting local sailing.
