New Season Starts 1 September – Sailing Membership Renewals
The 2026/27 membership season officially starts on Tuesday 1 September, and we’re getting ready to roll over our membership system for another season on the water.
Sailing Members – Your Invoice Is Coming
Following the season rollover, all sailing members will receive their membership invoice.
Online payment is preferred, and if paying by Direct Debit or bank transfer, please make sure you use your invoice number as the payment reference, along with your surname. This is really important as it allows our volunteers to correctly identify and allocate your payment to your membership account.
Every payment still needs to be checked against the Club’s bank deposits and manually allocated to the correct member, so using the correct reference makes this process much quicker and helps prevent payments being allocated incorrectly.
The Club is also now required to absorb credit card surcharge costs following changes to payment surcharge rules. Choosing Direct Debit or bank transfer where possible helps us reduce these additional costs to the Club.
Early Bird Rates – Don’t Miss Out
There’s also a great reason to get your membership sorted early. Early Bird membership rates are available until 30 September, after which membership fees will increase.
We recommend paying before 1 October to make sure you receive the Early Bird rate.
Something Not Right on Your Invoice?
As we transition into a new membership year and roll over our membership groups, mistakes can occasionally happen. Your invoice may not reflect a change in your circumstances, your membership category may need updating, or something may simply have been carried over incorrectly.
If something doesn’t look right, please don’t worry and don’t pay an incorrect invoice. Simply email the office at
admin@gbyc.com.au and let us know what needs changing. We’ll check your membership details and resend or adjust your invoice where required.
Our team is working through a particularly busy period as we process the new season memberships, so we really appreciate your patience, understanding and kindness.
We’re all human, and occasionally things go wrong. If there’s an error, let us know and we’ll work to fix it. Please remember that the people helping with memberships are doing their best to get everyone sorted as quickly and accurately as possible.
